How recent screenshot scanning fits the workflow
SnapAction is designed for the moment after you capture something useful. You can scan screenshots from the app gallery, process recent screenshots, or use supported iOS system entrypoints to trigger a scan faster.
During a scan, selected screenshots are sent to the backend for AI analysis. The resulting resource cards are stored locally with SwiftData, including metadata, tags, screenshot references, and one-tap actions.
The fastest entrypoints for a just-taken screenshot
- Action Button — assign SnapAction’s scan action and a press scans your latest screenshot without opening the app.
- App Shortcuts / Siri — trigger “scan latest screenshot” from Spotlight, Siri, or the Shortcuts app; this is also what powers Back Tap scanning.
- Control Center widget — a scan control next to your flashlight and timer.
- In-app gallery — open SnapAction and pick one or several recent screenshots to scan as a batch.
Scan progress shows in the Dynamic Island and as a Live Activity, and a notification links straight to the finished card. Each scan counts against your monthly quota — 30 on Free — so the practical habit is scanning the screenshots you actually mean to act on rather than everything in the camera roll.
