How to use the calculator

  1. Estimate how many screenshots you take per day.
  2. Estimate what percent are worth scanning into resource cards.
  3. Add a one-time backlog if you want to clean up old screenshots.
  4. Use the output to decide whether the Free or Membership scan quota fits your habit.

How the estimate is calculated

The monthly estimate is daily screenshots × 30 days × the percentage you consider worth scanning, plus your backlog divided across the months you give yourself to clear it. That "worth scanning" percentage matters more than the raw count: most camera rolls mix genuinely useful captures — articles, repos, receipts, bookings, event flyers — with screenshots that were only ever meant to be glanced at once. If you are unsure, 30–50% is a realistic starting range for people who use screenshots as bookmarks; run the screenshot organization score first if you want a better guess.

The suggested quota simply compares your total against SnapAction's published plans: Free covers 30 scans a month and Membership covers 300. Since scans are the unit you pay attention to, a backlog cleanup is usually worth spreading over two or three months rather than trying to clear it in one. Plan details are on the pricing page.
